Advantages are:
- easy out of source tree building
- easy crosscompiling
- CPACK allows easy package management (.deb, .rpm, .tgz ...)
As I told, I consider the task of creating a CMAKE environment something for long winter evening, a task I might tackle or not. This would happen out of tree, and even when in the tree, it is non intrusive to the current build system.
