Page Scavenger complains that .NET Framework version 1.1.4322 is not installed. I have a 2.0 version of the .NET Framework. The .NET Framework, according to MSDN is 100% backwards compatible. I think the Setup needs to do a more thorough check for .NET.

A log of the date/time that each IP visited a SandTrap page and the actual URL visited would be very useful. When filing abuse reports for IP addresses it is useful to file a specific date and time and the specific URLs visited.

Error pages are no longer used. Redirects are done in a way that does not return an error and Email harvesters appear to accept these redirects.

SandTrap 0.7 is out. SandTrap was tested against multiple email harvesting bots and improved. SandTrap now appears to be stable and works reliably. Hopefully this tool will be adopted by webmasters soon.
The next step will be writing instructions, tips, and documentation. After that icons, banners, and other SandTrap promotional items will be made.

After the bot has been banned it will continue to traverse. There is no check to see whether or not an IP address is already banned before adding it to the iplog and banning it using the .htaccess file again. A check needs to be performed so the log and .htaccess file do not become cluttered.

Two spambots tested skipped the SandTrap safe page because it returned a 404 error. A different method of htaccess redirection should be used to ensure no error is returned.

The method of creating hidden links by using links that have no anchor text may be a flawed one. Malicious bots may not recognize these as links that should be followed. Another method of hidden links should be developed and used, possibly using CSS or JavaScript to hide the links.

After over two years without any development I am starting up development for SandTrap again. I plan on porting SandTrap to multiple languages at some point. Documentation is the next big goal.
