using 1.2.6, this is quite annoying, especially if you don't specify a speaker (as a newbie) and think that the program will not export to text at all, ever...

I would like to be able to "export" (sic) my database as a .bib file but at the same time be able to choose a few fields from being included in the new bib file...
use case 1:
My friend asks me to send her my 1000-long .bib file. I don't want her to see my review and abstract, I'm shy. I spend the next few hours deleting them (I don't know scripting)
use case 2:
My friend asks me to...

in latex, a new paragraph is opened with two hits. I would like to see this in jabref as well, at least as an item in the preferences section - this would make life a lot easier because it would allow me to copy paste from PDF files without having to fix line endings.
example: now in jabref, the following two lines are interpreted as two paragraphs:
par1 bla bla
par2 bla bla
I'd...

Sorry that I can't be very specific... To be honest, I don't know what is missing... The process seems too complicated for me to even try. I'll get back once I find a server machine to install it on and time to do that.
But basically, what I mean is that the text here[1] assumes that the user has prior knowledge on server software (mysql, phpmyadmin etc)... I don't, so when I read it, it's...

As far as I know, bibliography manager software users (just like any other) are used to installing software by basically double-clicking :) Such a vmware appliance would make it easier to install wikindx with these steps:
1) download and install vmware player (very easy even in Linux)
2) download wikindx wmvare appliance
3) double-click the appliance.
I would help if I knew how to install...

I'd like to see a detailed instruction (step by step) to set up wikindx.

Providing the end user with a ready to run (double click) virtual manager might make things very easy. A qemu or vmware file (that contains Wikindx as part of the operating system packed into the virtual machine) would be great.

please reopen this bug, it screwed up my 3000+ photo database in over 180+ albums. gpixpod thinks the database is fine (and displays photos correctly in order in each album) but in the ipod, the photos are all over the place. The photos of my car is in the album of my girlfriend, as if the f*cking car is my girlfriend.

using exiftool, it would be great if gqview gave the option to write the contents of the .meta files into the exif of the images (and vice-versa)... a script might work for this, but I am ignorant about scripts...
that way, if I take my pictures to another platform, I can still use the exif info to categorize and organize my pics...
or if I take pictures from another platform to my gqview...
