I haven't noticed a problem with this. To be honest, you are the first to bring it up. Most people want FAST. I use a cable modem and let it rip, just got 527 KB/sec on astraweb. I believe the speed is also regulated by the remote server and the hops between. Gravity actually does have a speed regulator based on how fast it can process incoming articles, but it depends how fast your machine is...

At times the sig fires in the body. I thought it was a char sequence in UTF-8 8 bit bodies, but when we discussed the long article - losing formatting I saw it too. In addition several users requested changes. ie back to plain text or user can set a color/font. Maybe we will get more user feedback in the next couple days.

I dont know if this is a bug but I forgot about this post in nsr. This was an install on Win 7. When G starts, it looks in Windows for existing name and organization. Apparently, it can be distracting, even for this veteran Usenetter. Is there any point trying to pre-fill this stuff? On usenet hardly anyone uses Organization or their real user name (and we certainly don't want them using MSoft...

Ok. My guess is that the databases are not compatible. As I recall, Richard had to do some tweaking for importing the dbases. But the testing done was done importing 2.7.0 files. But there were database changes before that.
I'm not sure how to get your old articles. If you had really important ones and wanted to invest the time (I dont even know if it would work). You could uninstall Gravity...
