I'm glad you got it working! Thanks for the offer of the broken plist files, but I don't need them since the version in development right now has a brand new preference file system, and no installer. :) It's also MUCH easier to understand the setup.

Ah, your prefs might be messed up if you moved them from a PPC to Intel Mac. I would try deleting it and try recreating the config in the prefpane. Let me know if you still have problems. Thanks!

A side note to "I am no longer able to access any previously entered server configuration options" - the current version will delete the previous config when switching from client to server, or vice versa. This has been fixed in the development version which will be released by the end of the month.
The uninstaller does leave the old prefs. To delete the old prefs, search for any files inside...

Sorry about that.. 1.0 final will be out around Christmas and fixes TONS of bugs and makes it way easier to setup and prevent errors.
From what you describe, it sounds like you may have a space or other character in a screen name, alias, or other section that is not A-Z, 0-9, or a dash. Let me know if that fixes it please. Thanks!

This appears to be a problem only in 10.5.x. It is fixed in the 1.0 final version which is almost done. In the mean time, I think this is a fix:
After installer is done, don't click "Configure". Just click OK, and quit installer. Then go to sys preferences, and click on SynergyKM prefpane. If it freezes at this point, go to ~/Library/Preferences/ and delete...

There is a "uninstall" option in the installer. This will stop the service and remove all associated files.
