Cool beans. Well, it seems the current Apple JVM doesn't like the old one, though obviously some tests on other machines would be required to validate this idea.

I seem to have determined the cause of the problem: The newest version of Java on Mac doesn't allow JavaApplicationStub, perhaps?
I mentioned previously that jEdit and FreeMind stopped working simultaneously. Well someone responded to my (identical) post on the jEdit forum, and after discussing things with him he thought to check the stub issue. I found that both jEdit 4.2 as well as FreeMind...

Ouch, looks like it's beyond that as well. I've tried running Disk Utility with no luck, tried even booting to single-user mode and running applejack (on auto)
I am pleased to be able to run the apps manually with the .jars, but it'd be nice to be able to launch them from the dock once again.

Thanks for the response, Robert. I can run the .jar file just fine. But the .app file won't work for some reason! Any ideas?
From Console.app: "Tried to get view without being able to get map module." After quitting the .jar instance. (same message when first starting) I get no information at all on Console.app when I try to start from the .app file.
Any idea why the .app files...

I do hope the FreeMind patrons/artisans can help me! I've only recently had a machine with enough RAM/free cycles to consider really using Java apps seriously. I've taken a shine to Eclipse (natch!) FreeMind and more recently jEdit.
So today when I went to open a .mm file I created on Friday (it's Monday night now) I was distraught to find FreeMind wouldn't load. I figured I must've done...
