I've just seen that the user login is in the comment so I close this request. I understand that if you use the web interface then the author is the web interface. However this prevent the use of 'svn blame' which can be a problem.

When in directory mode I suppose most of the users want to stay in this mode when clicking on a directory link notably because it's the conventional way to browse a directory structure.
So it may be more useful to stay in directory mode and show the content of the directory when you click the link instead of showing the directory index.html.

A useful parameter for %image would be 'title' and 'link' so an image can be linked to another resource and a title can be shown in a tooltip.
