View>Toolbars>Customize>Restore Default Set and the Button will appear.
Anyway it did not work out of the box for me. Closing the output stream right after writing to it didn't work. At least with my server.
I had to modify the source an introduce a break of ~5 seconds. Even if the transmission takes longer it works. Its just...

just stumbled over SACoach. Great project! Thanks!
But sadly in Thunderbird 2.0.0.21 (20090302) [Win Vista SP1] there is no button "learn as spam" visible after installing the Addon.
I just configured my SA on server side to allow tell and tunneled 127.0.0.1:783 through (as it is blocked by FW). Checked with telnet that connection is working (while tailing logs)...

I added a patch which works around the issue described here by introducing an ugly hack. To be more precise it just moves the alternatives/suggestions to spot where it cannot be seen instead of hiding it. That has the desired effect but is "uncool". No idea why alternatives->hide() makes launchy loosing focus only in compiz (kwin works).
It works fpr me. Maybe it is of use to somebody else.

Launhcy version 2.1.2 =>
Using KDE 3.5.9 with compiz-fusion 0.6.0 as window manager (standard kde no problem) and Qt3 (3.3.8) the following problem occurs (reproducible):
Option "Hide launchy if it looses focus is set". This problem only occurs with that option set.
If sth. is typed and the suggestion list opens up launchy disappears (looses focus) when a key (any expect up/down arrow)
