  • Comment: jEdit handles disconnection of network fs poorly

Also, if I tell it to reload all the files, it warns me that they've changed since they were last saved and those changes would be lost. It does this for _every_ buffer, regardless of whether or not this is true. As a result, it can't be trusted to do the right thing. It should only report the buffer as changed if it really has been.

  • jEdit handles disconnection of network fs poorly

When a network filesystem disappears and reappears (which is common when putting a notebook to sleep then waking it up again), jEdit just decides that the files are missing and marks the buffers as needing to be resaved somewhere else. To get it to quit complaining, I have to save each buffer over the original file and tell it to replace. If I have a dozen files open, this becomes a real...

  • Comment: jEdit hangs on startup

Solution: (1) Go to /Users//Library/Application Support/jEdit (2) Delete perspective.xml Nevertheless, this should be no reason for the app to hang.

  • MacOS X: Keybindings really nonstandard

I rather like jEdit, and I'm trying to decide if I want to start using it as my primary code editor. But I'm using a Mac, and even with the plugin, the keybindings are weird, as are the menus. How important is Mac integration to jEdit developers? Anyhow, here's my bug report: The search and replace key bindings are non-standard. These are what I'm used to: Command-F -- opens search...

  • Comment: jEdit hangs on startup

BTW, this is 100% reproducable. It hangs every time.

  • jEdit hangs on startup

jEdit hangs when it's started. It's been sitting there for several minutes now with the splash box up saying "run startup scripts". pre9 didn't do this, but pre17 seems to have a problem. I'm running this on Snow Leopard.

  • Comment: Exactly equal bug or initialization race

I'm an idiot. Sorry about this. When I cleaned up the build problems I was having, the latest version fixed the bug. Thank you for your patience!

  • Comment: Exactly equal bug or initialization race

Please reopen this bug. I checked out the latest git version, compiled it, and installed it, and when I run this, I still get solid X for a, when I should get Z.

  • Comment: Can't compile latest git

Never mind. I have no idea what went wrong, but I think the configure screwed up. When I did it all again, it compiled just fine.

  • Can't compile latest git

I've checked out the latest development source, and I'm getting compiler errors. I'm compiling on a Mac under 10.5.6. This is the first time I've had this problem compiling icarus. I'm not doing any funny stuff or trying to compile for 64-bit. I have no idea why it thinks it doesn't know about an unsigned 32-bit number. This is MacOS X. If it compiles for FreeBSD, it should compile here.
