Hello Volker
I think there is a minor formatting bug on the Diagnostics|Information|SMART tab.
With a browser window sized to just remove the horizontal scroll-bar, everything displays correctly, except the SMART tab, which extends to the right (after the MS Domains tab).
Obviously a very minor bug, but I see you have made some recent changes to 'tidy up' some interface issues!
I...

Hello
When I first started to use FreeNAS, I also had problems with the system freezing and then re-booting.
I was using a very simple system (no HW or SW RAID).
The problem was eventually tracked to the SiL3512a PCI-SATA controller I was using.
I had different error messages in the log, but the problem always started with the 'device detached' condition. This seems common with the...

Unless I a misunderstand, the only method to empty Recycle bins is to manually delete the contents of .recycle folders (created for a CIFS/SMB share with 'recycle bin' enabled).
Would it be helpful to add a webGUI page (to 'Disks-Management'?) with a list of all .recycle folders, and the option to empty individually or all?
This is a request of minor importance!

Hello
I think this problem is known and already has a bug report - and is fixed in the nightly builds of 0.69.1.

Hi Volker
Whilst it is not good you see the error message too, if it is a problem that needs fixing, then you will be in a better position.
Some Internet searches reveal many Samba users experience this error.
The following link is an on-line calculator to decode IOCTL codes (I dont know of it helps!)

...no problem. I have enabled SMB 'debug' logging (now performance is much slower!)
So far, I have not seen a repeat of this 'error'.
Is there a method to display more debug data via the webGUI (only last 50 entries using diag_logs.php which does not capture much traffic with SMB reporting in Debug mode)?
If I see the error again, I'll post an update.
Regards
Andy.

I am not certain if these are 'real' problems; but after updating to 0.69.1 4292 (embedded) I see the following logs (Samba appeared to be working OK - if slow!)
Jan 23 13:52:41 smbd[1565]: [2009/01/23 13:52:41, 0] passdb/pdb_smbpasswd.c:startsmbfilepwent(241)

Hello Volker
I am sure you are right, but I have already installed SVG (though I have just re-installed it!)
I have just investigated with FreeNAS 0.69RC1 (3991) and RC2 (4084) and I get the same results...
If I access WebGUI using HTTPS I do not see the Graphs, using IE6 (XP SP2) or IE7 (Vista 64 SP1). If I reconfigure to HTTP, Graphs are displayed (so I guess SVG is installed OK).

Hi Volker
I have updated to 0.69 4221 (embedded) and continue to experience the problem that Graphs are not displayed with IE6 or 7 (Firefox OK).
I do not understand you fully (sorry).
Are you saying you added these lines to the newest build? And that you might expect different behavior?
Sorry, but I do not get different results!
If no-one else has reported this problem, then...

Hello Volker
You are correct; Firefox (3.0.5b) displays the graphs.
However, I tested with a 2nd machine (Vista 64 and IE7) and again no graphs are displayed. I tried under Protected and Un-Protected modes - no change.
I am certain earlier builds have worked with IE (I do not know why I use this for NAS config - I use FF for all other tasks!)
I see there was a similar 'bug' raised - HTTPS...
