0.2.6 will be out soon(ish), just need to fix some final stuff and package everything up.

par2 on-the-fly-verification won't make it though, and there won't be any ssl support in the prebuilt binary.

Compiling yenc-0.3-w32fixed:
1) Install MinGW (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=2435&package_id=82721&release_id=158801)
2) Include C:\MinGW\bin\ in your PATH (Properties->System->Advanced->Environment Variables)
3) Run: setup.py build -cmingw32 install.

SABnzbd is still alive and well, development has just slowed down.
This is what Is currently done or planned for 0.2.6:
* On-the-fly par2 verification (repair will still done by par2 binary) - 10% done
* Optimized download engine - 100% done
* Speed improvements to Interface - 100% done
* Https support (Interface) - 0% done (should be possible with switch to cherrypy-3.0)
* DirectNZB...

No, the w32 build is 100% standalone.
Did you try to run SABnzbd in WinXP compatibility mode?.

Just tested SABnzbd-0.2.5 on Vista Business (x64) and couldn't reproduce your problem.
