  • CHMOD

I'd truly love the ability to chmod a file on the remote. Specifically, I want to upload a file from Eclipse then set the permissions to allow execute. Is this a possibility?.

  • multiple external ips

I need to be able to route outgoing traffic through different virtual IPs. It looked like multiple masquerades were going to be included in future releases, but I haven't seen any movement in a long time. By the way, I am suggesting routing all http traffic out through IP XX.XX.XX.20 and all smtp traffic out through XX.XX.XX.21. I can not seem to do wthis without using multiple NICs. Even...

  • Followup: RE: FTP, CHMOD and Line Endings

Just wanted to follow up and say that I found DeployerFTP as a reasonable solution to the FTP issue. Now I'm bugging them to add CHMOD and CR/LF conversion. :) If only I were a java coder, I'd do it myself.

  • Deployer forums

DeployerFTP is great! I had been using Deployer and was getting tired of adding the upload details for every single file. You may want to add a note to the Deployer Forum so that people know this is here if they find the other.

  • CR/LF to LF

Can we have an option to change the Line endings on the uploaded file? So I can upload from a Windows based machine to a Linux server and have appropriate line endings. This may be considered an issue within Eclipse, but I consider it a deployment issue. Thanks.

  • CHMOD option

It would be great if there was a way to have the upload also do a CHMOD on the file. That way I can deploy a brand new executable file and set it to be executable on the server.

  • Followup: RE: FTP, CHMOD and Line Endings

Oh my... I think you are right about overengineering. I much prefer a system built up from smaller working components than one designed from the start to do everything. Although I think removing the FTP/Webdav is the correct thing. It works in a pretty specific situation only.

  • Followup: RE: FTP, CHMOD and Line Endings

I guess you are right. But I do find these issues to be an annoyance when considering Eclipse/EPIC as a Development environment. I have been using another IDE which seems to no longer be supported, but it did handle these types of issues. Yes, most likely Eclipse is where most of these changes should be made. But I think Eclipse development is not yet sufficiently language/environment...

  • FTP, CHMOD and Line Endings

Just started using EPIC, and I love it, and I hate it. It does everything I want EXCEPT make it easy to upload changes only with FTP, along with chmod to make it executable, and ensuring the proper line endings (LF vs CR/LF). Can it do this? Will it ever do this? Can I make it do this? Thanks, Tom...

  • Category name on forum Browse

I'd like the category name to be a show up on the browse messages page (next to the board name) on the little folder "tree" above the messages. The reason for this is that I wanted several categories to have a General board for each one. When I select a board names General, the "tree" shows "Forums -> General", no matter which category it is under.
