Ah, I see, I left out the i386. Thanks for the pointer. Scanner stuff can be a bit tricky. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take:
1. Make sure that the scanner is supported by Linux, either by getting it working on a fat client first or by consulting online lists of supported scanners.
2. Find out if your particular scanner requires a firmware file to be loaded by the...

That's good feedback, thank you. We will incorporate this option into the software.
For now, if you are using version 4.1, you can add the entry by hand to the very first line of the dhcpd.conf file, and it should be preserved.

Which release do you have installed and on which distro? This bug was found in one of the older releases when installed on a newer version of K12LTSP. The script was trying to fix a bug that eventually got fixed in K12LTSP, but then the script broke things. It has since been fixed.
I beleive there is an "if" statement in rc.sound around the line you quoted that is not correct.
