Please read http://www.axantum.com/AxCrypt/faq.html#lost_passphrase . If AxCrypt says that you are entering the wrong passphrase - then that is very, very likely the case. If you're having other problems, please give more details.

(For the benefit of other viewers than varshneys who received this suggestion via e-mail: please try to disable ASLR (Address Space Layout Randomization) - this is done with a registry editor and setting: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management DWORD MoveImages to zero.). This issue will still be investigated and fixed even if the above works around the problem...

You may want to try AxCrypt2Go, which is a preview currently, which probably will work better in a Windows emulated environment. A really portable version is coming, but remains more or less constantly delayed ;-( due to other for-pay work....

There is a portable version available in a preview, AxCrypt2Go, with somewhat limited functionality. Check out the program files\Axon Data\AxCrypt folder of an AxCrypt 1.6.4.4 installation.

Hello,
There should not be any data loss. In this situation, the plain-text file should be unmodified, since apparently the encrypted file was not completed due to the error.
The bad news is that you had a problem to begin with - there's no general problem encrypting many, many files etc - that should not be a problem.

Just how large is the file compared to how much free space you have? You should have about twice the size of the file free.

I'm afraid I do not really have any ideas at this point. Which version of AxCrypt / Office / Windows are you running (more for my info, to see if I can correlate with any other issues)?.
