Hmm the point of it was to get Kscope (sourceinsight replacement) x-platform and more powerful.
Since such a project has nothing to bind it to platform, so Java/Eclipse was the obvious choice. I did the feasibility study for the same and found some embedded DB engines.
Also shared my idea with Elad. He suggested complimenting CDT.

Would it be a good idea to rewrite/port the Kscope in Java.
We have multiple choices for embeddable DB engines in that. So we can improve on cscope side.
It would make it available for all platforms easily, which would help many more developers.
Any ideas for construction, design, criticism are welcome.

I find the same.
Seems like this version is experimental and under development.

I am attaching the patch for adding two missing keys mappings - # and $. In inscript layout they map to two keys.
Tested with scim-1.4.7 and scim-tables-0.5.7.

To get off the ground, I used the precompiled packages from my distribution. Its available in Ubuntu.
It worked and I like it very much.
With vim/cscope it looks like user is centered on editor and reaching out to project level, whereas with kscope user is centered on project and reaches out to editor.
I find kscope/vim(editor) more natural. May be due to similarities with IDE concept.

Good idea !!!
Both stand on same platform and will complement functionality.
Will make Qt Creator truly killer app, best x-platform C++ IDE :)
