  • Comment: abnormal maternal nurturing

also look at abnormal maternal behavior which includes the modifier "inconsistent with ability of young to thrive".

  • abnormal maternal nurturing

Currently the definition of abnormal maternal nurturing is failure of females to tend offspring. I think this definition would better fit the term absent maternal nurturing. Please consider obsoleting the current term and creating a new term with the definition - any anomaly in the behaviors related to a female tending to young. Several other terms under maternal nurturing are similarly...

  • split leukocyte rolling and leukocyte adhesion

Please consider splitting the terms abnormal leukocyte rolling (MP:0003627) and abnormal leukocyte adhesion (MP:0003628) into increased and decreased children. We should also add a term for abnormal leukocyte rolling velocity as 28 existing annotations describe this phenotype. We should probably also obsolete the current leukocyte rolling term as this term specifies number of leukocytes...

  • esophageal sphincter physiology

Please consider adding the term abnormal esophageal sphincter physiology def - any anomaly in function of the muscle rings responsible for keeping stomach contents from back flowing; the upper esophageal sphincter is composed of striated muscle while the lower esophageal sphincter is composed of smooth muscle J: 56948 and 1 existing annotation contain the phenotype of abnormal lower...

  • dendrite branching morphology

Please consider adding the term abnormal dendrite branching morphology def - any anomaly in the number or structure of divisions of the dendrite child of abnormal dendrite morphology Most of the other branching terms in the MP are defined for the branching process but placed under morphology. I've tried to define this for the morphological outcome of the branching process so that the...

  • respiratory rate

Please consider adding the term abnormal respiratory rate def - any anomaly in the number of movements indicative of inspiration and expiration per unit time child of abnormal respiratory signs/symptoms This phenotype appears in J:106328 in response to changes in oxygen concentration. Thanks, Sue.

  • hypersensitivity reation terms

Hi Cindy, I asked Terry about the hypersensitivity terms in relation to the trait ontology and his response (see below) makes me think that we need to alter these terms in the MP. Currently these terms are in as; hypersensitivity, type I hypersensitivity reaction, type II hypersensitivity reaction, type III hypersensitivity reaction and type IV hypersensitivity reaction. The definitions...

  • skin detachment

Please consider adding the term skin detachment syn - skin sloughing, detached skin def - loss of sections of skin either spontaneously or after gentle handling child of abnormal skin condition This phenotype appears in J:153292 and several existing annotations.

  • abnroaml physiological response to restraint

Please consider adding the term abnormal physiological response to restraint def - any anomaly in the physiological or morphological changes induced by close physical confinement child of homeostasis/metabolism phenotype Searching for restraint brings back 49 alleles many of which mention hormone responses to restraint. The paper (J:125921) I'm working on looks at circadian variations in...

  • circadian terms

Currently all of the circadian terms we have are under behavior however circadian patterns are seen in no behavioral areas ( for example glucose and lipid homeostasis in J:131694). Perhaps we should obsolete the current terms and create new terms specific to behavior (under behavior) and physiology (under homeostasis), similar to what you did for the response terms. Thanks, Sue.
