I've had problems with WTextView objects not refreshing when a window was resized, or printing when not showing in a window (because it was resized), and tracked down the problem to find that the RevealedRect of my WTextView was set to all zeros when the view wasn't visible.
I assume this is the standard procedure, but other panes manage to figure out when they *are* visible after a window...
