The radar and "panel" (message console) opacities are linked together. This presents a problem, because you frequently want the radar opacity to be nearly 100% (otherwise targets are invisible against the background); but a message-console opacity of 100% blots out the entire bottom of the screen.
As a quick fix, perhaps only the radar opacity should be adjustable, seeing as how it's the...

Thanks for the info. It's quite unexpected to tie the window resizability to "confine mouse". Also, one would think that the window would retain the aspect ratio of the full-screen mode that the user selected.

Playing in windowed mode is very difficult, because the aspect ratio is not maintained when switching from full-screen mode. The result is similar to that of the "wide angle" flag, and nearly as difficult to play. The window is not resizable, and thus the distortion can't be corrected. Screen shots attached showing the fields of view and the non-resizable window.

Playing in windowed mode is very difficult because of wide-angle distortion. This occurs because the windowed mode doesn't maintain the aspect ratio of a wide-screen full-screen mode, but it presents the same field of view. The result is that everything is compressed horizontally.
