The old GUI supports to create GPX-files with a given "break" interval. F.e. on my system this is set to 10 minutes, so 10 minutes inactivity create a new track. This is not possible with new gui. Please implement that feature also for Desktop version.

2.x.1520 and previous version all hang when I download data and an older data file still exists (when I erased the device before, so the older file does not match the new data). Then the request to delete this file comes and afterwards the software cannot be used anmore.
Temporary solution is to delete the old download-file before starting software.
This error happens on at least 5 systems...

Hmm. when I entered the report I had no problems to reproduce the problem which exists for at least half a year. Now I updated my system and the bug seems be gone. I will investigate a bit and either close or update the report accordingly.

No, I can't be 100% sure it is not a Java bug, but even if it is optipng should not by default produce files which will fail to work as expected with Java (as Java is common enough to care for it). I think Java 1.3 bugs will be fixed, we are talking about 1.5 or better here.
I attached a fixed version of the file which was produced by opening and saving in GIMP and running through optipng...

I attached two files. First an original file and second the optimized file. The optimized file has the bad effect, that when displayed in Java the white background gets transparent which makes the file unusable.
I now use option -nc to workaround, but this does not reach as good reduction rate. I was able to reduce the file to 170 byte using a conversion to NetPBM format and back and the...
