  • Followup: RE: libfaac package

Someone sent me an email and asked me if this package actually requires 10.5 or if it would work on 10.4 too. Any thoughts?.

  • Followup: RE: FilmRedux: variable "exportfile" not defi

The issue is that only the apple formats were actually coded. The others were added to the interface, but have no code behind them. Unless you're trying to convert to, say, iPod or AppleTV, in which case, it's a bad bug...

  • Download the alpha!!!

Okay guys, I've got the site up for my fork: www.transcoder-redux.com There you'll find my plans for the future of Transcoder Redux, when it's all going to happen, and a link to binaries. At least one person who had the drag-drop bug had it go away when using my binary...so hopefully it'll help people out.

Awesome, thanks. I just linked to your installer in my README, and it already helped at least one person get going. I'll add it into my next release, and make sure that you get a shout out in the README...

That's pretty cool. Works great. Mind if I distribute your libfaac installer with my version as well? I was going to build my own, but, with your permission, I won't bother.

I'll do so. Part of this project was to teach myself objC/Cocoa again, so I'll be interested in seeing your work.

  • Followup: RE: The Future of TranscoderRedux

One more quick thing that I forgot: I'll be making a web site for the project in the near future that will have actual downloads of just the binaries for people who aren't interested in the source code sometime within the next week. I'll post here when that happens, so keep watching this space! Thanks!

  • The Future of TranscoderRedux

Well, after the recent discussion on here, I've decided that I will continue to develop Transcoder Redux as a personal project of mine. A friend will also be helping me. We're both students, so we can't devote all of our time to this, but we plan on working on it at least one night a week, so expect to see some progress soon. However, I'm a git lover, so I'll be hosting my version at GitHub...

He actually did a bunch of stuff to it, too. Some of the interface has changed, things are broken all over the place...I sort of wish he had just done that, it'd be a bit easier.

I hear you. This will be my last semester of CS, myself. I would like to work on it, and I have done a little bit already, so developer access would be cool. However, I honestly prefer git/GitHub to subversion/SourceForge...but I haven't used git on a Mac yet. Honestly, if I was to take over the project, I'd rather have it hosted with the tools I prefer. Would that upset anyone in what little...
