  • Followup: RE: Tripwire update the database.

Sorry, what i meant by unattended would actually be that you take a good long look at the report and if you are satisfied with it, you do a non interactive update of the database. Steph.

Hello, Are you sure it is not cron exiting with an error 5 ? Have you set all paths to the application and reports ? Have you installed tripwire from sources ? If so, it will require paths to all config files and everything. You can also set cron to produce more output on your mail report. Cheers, Steph.

If you can validate the update to the database on a daily basis, I guess that would be my approach, now not quite sure that is what you want. Cheers, Steph.

  • Followup: RE: Installing Tripwire HP-UX

It's been a while since I worked on HP-UX systems but which extent of GNU tools do you have installed on the system? Might be an idea to check this : http://www.gnu.org/software/automake/manual/make/Suffix-Rules.html I can try to see if I can get my hands on an HP-UX sytem for testing. Cheers, Steph.

  • Followup: RE: Tripwire update the database.

    > It's a manual process as you select what items from a given REPORT you wish to update your database with. Actually, both modes are supported, there is also an unattended option which validates ALL the entries in the report to the database. Steph.
