NPP 5.5.0 does install the explorer shell extension on x64, but the installer for 5.5.1 is broken in this regard.
There is already a reply stating, that the installer is fixed for the next release.

This was a false alarm.
The image has not been corrupted a second time, so there was something else causing this problem the first time.

Hi Dmitri,
I have copied the correct ISO image from work on a USB stick and transferred it to my home disk.
This time the image was not corrupted?
The size of the file did not change, but the autorun.inf and the setup.exe contained garbage for instance.
I will recheck today, if the image is still correct and if so, will close this as can't duplicate, assuming something else caused this...

Thats a nice feature for Vista, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition does not support this.
And how about using the context menu entry of explorer to open a file in NPP, there is no way to change the path for this action.

I think the file system redirection is disabled when navigating the file system through "File => Open", but the redirection is re-enabled after the file dialog is closed.
Generally, if I am able to navigate to a folder from within an application, I should be able to open any file contained in it, without getting a file does not exist failure.
Thanks in advance for the fix.
I would increase...

Hi,
on windows 64-bit I can navigate to the 64-bit System32 folder using "File => Open", but if I try to open a file I get notified, that the file can not be found.
If I can navigate to a location, I should be able to open the files there too.
Would you please include functionality to allow this.
Thanks in advance,
Stefan.

Dmitri,
I have done a further test at work, where the ISO image does not get corrupted.
At home as at work, I use an eternal USB hard drive to store the file.
The difference is, that at work I use Windows XP Professional x64 Edition SP2, whereas at home I use Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit SP2.
Thanks for any light, what I need to do to avoid this.

A DFS share of a remote server is listed as local drive on the client, which is incorrect.
GetDriveType returns DRIVE_REMOTE for the drive letter, if checked on the client.
Thanks in advance,
Stefan.

Recently I downloaded the "Windows Driver Kit 7.0.0" and the latest "Windows Platform SDK" to support UD with its AMD64 problems.
I do a boot time defrag at every boot, including all drives.
I have checked the ISO images for their correctness after downloading, but after the defragmentation, they are corrupted.
I did not have this problem with earlier versions of UD ( 3.0, 3.1)...

Hallo,
das Problem ist bekannt und mit der nächsten Version behoben.
Es handelt sich hier um ein Installer-Problem.
