This is not an ArchView's bug. This issue is caused by the server which doesn't support HTTP byte range. And ArchView depends on this feature. See below:

This release fixed a critical bug (can't open archive on http and ftp server) on Linux platform.
Add German and Dutch language support.

The most important feature of this release is that ArchView can handle ISO CD image files. The toolbar appearance was improved. And some bugs were fixed.

Yes, the icons are ugly. But I'm not an artist, it's hard to me to draw a beautiful icon. I will try to improve the icons, but it's not a high priority task. I hope someone can help me to do it.
The save button is a little problem. Maybe I should change it to a popup menu, and user can select to save the whole archive or the selected file.

Sorry. Currently, I have no plan to port this extension to Opera, since I'm not familiar with this browser. I think, this work is not just porting, because ArchView totally depend Firefox. But if someone try to port it to Opera or any other browser, I'll help him/her.
