What's happening?

  • Menucracker-1.4.dmg - no files!

    I'd like to upgrade. I'm using Mac OSX 10.5.6. When I download the 7-23-08 file (3 times so far) it's 43,421 bytes on disk, but the opened image has 0 files.

    @ Steve ("ultramathman"): I did re-run AJ 1.5. The problem with Secure VM did not happen again. @ Colin ("nobody"): It really sounds like you're still running version 1.4.3. The symptoms you describe are the same problems 1.4.3 has with Leopard. Perhaps you need to run the 1.4.3 installer, choose "Uninstall", then re-install 1.5?.

    FWIW, "mdi" and variants belong to Spotlight. The system has calmed down now, and is working normally. My desktop Quad G5 with Leopard didn't have Secure VM on...

    HW: 1.5 GHz G4 PowerBook, 1G RAM SW: Leopard 10.5.4, AppleJack 1.5, Revision: 1.123 I had a system freeze soon after installing AJ 1.5, so I used it. It seemed to run fine. However, my mac was noticeably slower. After some digging I found in the Security prefPane that "Use secure VM" was checked, but not by me. Fixing that setting did help somewhat.
