Currently, gdl lacks the doc_library procedure. The attached procedure fixes this at least for unix systems -- I don't have a windows system to make a windows version.

From my experience with plplot (which GDL uses for plotting), I think this would be difficult to do -- possibly XOR if the old X driver is used but ther other functions are not implemented by plplot as far as I can see.
