Yeah, I know that's Microsoft's fault. On the other hand, it doesn't really make much sense to me to build a subtitle system based on renderers that tear like crazy with the slightest bit of movement in the video. That way it simply can't be used. I see MPC Home Cinema is trying to solve this issue with its EVR renderer. Maybe I'll take a second look at it once it's been improved a little. With...

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I have the exact same problems in other players too (in vmr7/9 renderless), but the nice thing is: in some other players you don't need that renderer to display subs! So I was just wondering how you guys deal with this and more importantly: are there plans to make subs work with better renderers? Until then I have no other option but to use another player.

Come on guys. I can't believe I'm the only one trying to use MPC's own subtitle function. I tried it on a few pcs, all with very different hardware and they all had the exact same problem. This is a good test sample:

I get an annoying horizontal tearing line in the top of the screen with vmr7/9 renderless renderer (needed for subs). Since I...

@clsid2:
Haali's renderer is already included in MPC, so I guess there's no need to get the Haali Media Splitter package. Plus Haali's renderer doesn't work with .srt subs; the subtitle entry in the context menu is greyed out with all the renderers except for vmr7/9 renderless. That's also what it says in Options > Output. Plus Haali's renderer gives me tearing too, but thanks anyway for...

Hi guys,
I'd really like to make MPC my main video player, but there's a problem. I watch a lot of videos with external subtitles (.srt) which needs the vmr7/9 renderless renderer, but this renderer gives me terrible tearing! (and i'm not the only one). Right now, MPC is just useless for me if I want to watch videos with subtitles. Does anyone know how to solve this? If not, does anyone know...

Hi guys, I'm using Mediaplayerconnectivity to launch video/audio from the internet in MPC. I came across an embedded RealAudio sample that wouldn't play in MPC. The audio sample plays fine when i:
- use the RealMedia plugin (Real Alternative 1.52) to play the sample in the browser
- save the sample first and then open it
- use another player to launch the URL (even WMP and VLC have no...

All right, i made a photo of my computer screen, you can see it here
It's not really that clear because of the picture quality. What do you think? By the way, i don't have this problem with vmr7/9 (windowed).

Hi guys,
A few weeks ago i tried MPC to play video's. It all worked great till i wanted to display subtitles. To do that, i have to set MPC to VMR7/9 (renderless). Now when i play a video (doesn't matter whether i use subtitles or not), i always get one horizontal line when there's a little movement in the video (the image seems to be split). It's not just in MPC, i also encounter the problem...
