If there were no keywords in the Endnote XML file, then there are unlikely to be keywords in the original Endnote records. Any attempts at conversion won't help until Endnote has keywords to export.

Hi Alex,
The problem is that there is no 'keyword' or 'keywords' field in the endote XML export. So, presumably, there are no keywords in the original Endnote records.

'general' is a category so shouldn't be occurring for keywords. Can you email me a short .xml file of endnote references where this error is occurring please?

That's not something in wikindx -- it's controlled by the web browser (I'm pretty certain all browsers will do it) and will appear in any case where you submit a form and then click the back button, for example, it provides a warning against resubmitting that purchase on Amazon... Probably not such a good thing to do in wikindx (although I do try to guard against the potentially...
