After looking at the instantiated items, I noticed a clear candidate for trimming in the logging model. Making the errorLog static for stack options and meta data gives an instant saving of around a third in item storage - now comitted
Default information seems to be a fairly minor cost compared to something like the values field. Maybe the best thing is to consider this as part of a future...
