Before you import run a virtual machine created on a different version of VMWare, the virtual disks must first be converted to a format that can be read by the VMFS file system.

vmkfstools -i /.vmdk :.dsk
is the name of the folder from which you are importing from

You can boot WANem with USB stick,Folow the instructions given on this URL http://www.pendrivelinux.com/usb-knoppix-531-install-using-windows/
One change you have to do here is instead of Knoppix ISO you have to copy WANem ISO to the respective folder.I have tried this on my HP TX 1000 laptop it works.
