This was in an old book I got years ago called "Hacking Amazon". Google books is newer; I'm not familiar with their API. I don't know if the Amazon URL format is standard; I just know it's been the same for years. There's a lot more information on the Internet (you can rotate the image, stick "% off" signs on it and stuff).

Thinking longer-term, here...
It would be more intuitive to allow a book to have several "labels" rather than belong to a single "category".
GMail did this (labels instead of folders), and it worked quite well. LoC ended up putting books in multiple categories, which is really the same thing.

It would be nice if the modification windows detected dirty data and prompted for save when the window was closed.

When putting in a large cover image, scroll bars appear in the book entry modification window; it would look a lot better if the cover image was scaled down to fit (showing full-size if clicked).
Also, in the main window, the book cover image can end up cropped.

Effective immediately, all development on ntutils has been discontinued. I am going through a lot of personal problems, and since I am the only developer, this project is now at a standstill.
If/when ntutils is revived, news will be posted here.
