While my current goal is to greatly improve the security of the system, storing the system configuration in the HTTP webspace is by design. WASTE already contains this functionality. WASTE stores the servers you have recently connected to, and will attempt to resume these connections when it is restarted.

Is WASTE alive again? I'm not really sure. After 3 years on the internet, it's actually more relevant than it was way back in version 1.0b. With government wiretapping, ISP logging, and general sneaky spying, it's a great time to keep your private matters...well...private, and use WASTE.
