To build gdiff-ext from source you need libgconf2-dev, libgnomevfs2-dev, libeel2-dev, libnautilus-extension-dev and libgnomevfs2-dev. Also note that for Ubuntu-8.04 you have to apply patch from http://patches.ubuntu.com/d/diff-ext/ Serg.
