  • Comment: MacOS X: Keybindings really nonstandard

I totally agree. The current default hotkeys are strange and very counter-intuitive compared to other editors and apps. But it's an old scheme that's been in use for many years. I'd love to change it but we need more than just the two of us to agree :)

  • Comment: OS X: opens files twice

Ken, I would suggest you check if you have both the MacOS and the MacOSX plugins installed. If they are both trying to handle file-open events, this would explain it. Regards Seph.

  • Comment: OSX: Antialiasing is always turned on as of 4.3pre17

Voituk, please remove it from build.xml. I see no reason that we enable this feature unless we can make it work without the antialiasing feature since there no advantages and no recommendations to do so. If you read the documentation on the option (the link i specified) there is a suggested way of disabling the antialiased text runtime. If you can make that fix work I will be happy to see it...

voituk, please provide a source/link for that statement... Before I asked I tried searching for the UseQuartz feature and found that it doesn't seem to be relevant for jEdit. There are still benefits of Java 2D - Quartz isn't faster for everything. The developer guide doesn't specifically state that you should enable it - please read it...

  • Comment: Multiple buffers per file

    > then you have one row of BufferTabs for each split pane and > RecentBufferSwitcher only works within the current pane. Also, I'd like to > have each file buffer use the full screen area and I'd like to switch > between different file buffer instances like between different files. It seems to me that you are describing shortcomings of RecentBufferSwitcher and ButterTabs (mmm). How would you...

  • Comment: Multiple buffers per file

Wouldn't splitting the view do what you want? Regards Seph.

I can confirm that setting the UseQuartz setting to false works. I didn't notice any performance hits so I wonder why this option is enabled (voituk)? Regards Seph.

  • Comment: OS X: trackpad horiz scroll fixed?

I'm sorry, but we cannot fix this issue. It is an issue to java for mac. I can recommend upgrading OS X when Snow Leopard (10.6) is released possibly in september. Closing, invalid. Apple's issue. Best regards Seph.

  • Comment: OS X: trackpad horiz scroll fixed?

Horizontal scrolling requires you to run a newer version of Java. Perhaps even 1.6 which will not be available for 10.4 (Tiger). This is a decision Apple made and sadly not something we can backport. What happens for you, when you scroll horisontally? Best regards Seph.
