I had the exact same thing happen to me, a user wanted to donnate, but abstained because of the registration process....
It seems to me that someone wanting to donate money, will want a easy experience that's painless. Going through a registration process is not it... Especially for people not involve in software development.
That said, I really appreciate the service you provide...
