I'm not sure how many of the features requested on the following lists are complete, or not. I haven't reviewed them in any detail. One that comes to mind, for me anyway, is an Outliner mode. I'd like to be able see my MM as a text only hierarchical outline tree, in a separate pane.
There's the request for enhancements page...

I believe the preference settings for "Format > Automatic Layout" are only available in 9.0 Release Candidates. If you're using the older 8.x version, you might want to try downloading 9.0_RC4

You can try downloading one of the other file options from the [downloads][1] page.
The [freemind-bin-max-0.9.0_RC_4.zip][2] package comes with a shell script that you should be able to run from your pen drive. Just unzip to your pen drive, make sure the freemind.sh file is executable and has proper permissions, and it should run from any Linux computer with Java installed. The same...

Are you referring to whether a node sits on the left or right of the central topic node?
You can drag nodes around to position them. If you drag a child to the central node you can place it left or right. Dragging toward other children nodes will show that you can make it a sub-topic of or place it above or below, etc. A little grey bar appears over the node to show where the dragged...

From my understanding, in order to use the "Change Format" option under the Formats menu, you have to have Automatic Layouts disabled. Then, when you use "Change Format" the changes you make in the dialogue will affect the node. This will only affect the current node, however, not any of the nodes at that level, or any children, etc.
Regarding the language issue. To the...

Hi,
Unfortunately, I'm not sure what the problem could be. I use Linux, so I'm not sure why Windows 7would be doing something different. I wouldn't think that Windows 7 would cause this problem over Vista.

There's a little Perl utility that will convert tabbed text files to Freemind:
http://uwstopia.nl/blog/2007/10/text-to-freemind-released
Other utilities are listed on the wiki:
http://freemind.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Accessories
Hope that helps.

Hi,
It sounds like you're using the Automatic Format feature. In 9.0, you are able to customise the appearance of the various levels of nodes via the preferences.
Select Tools > Preferences > Automatic layout patterns.
In the listing, choose the node level you wish to modify, and a dialogue will appear that allows you to specify the colour, font, and more for the specific node...

What may help is to hit the Esc key, to jump to the root node, and then start your cmd-F to search for keywords. This usually jumps to the first occurrence that it finds, however, followed by cmd-G to jump to the next occurrence. I also tend to create large maps with a number of long nodes, so I like using the Find and Replace dialogue, (cmd-shift-F) which lists every occurrence and then...

Are you using the Automatic Layout feature? From my understanding, if you have Automatic Layout enabled for your map, the increase and decrease font size won't work. At least from my testing.
