sorry for taking so long on this. my scripts and packaging are finished and everything appears to work. I just started the rebuild that should become the official repository. hopefully tomorrow I'll take another look, rsync the repository to sf.net, test a bit more, upload my new packaging to Debian, write up instructions, and send it off to Alexandru to put on the website.

Encoding field not needed in gstm.desktop file

N: The Encoding key is now deprecated by the FreeDesktop standard and all N: strings are required to be encoded in UTF-8. This desktop entry N: explicitly specifies an Encoding of UTF-8, which is harmless but no N: longer necessary. Have a "restart" option in the dock
