Hi Dimitri,
The prebuilt .jar files are located in the directory JHotDraw 7.3.1/Samples/
You can launch the sample applications by double clicking a .jar file.
The only exception is file JHotDraw 7.3.1/Samples/JHotDraw/jhotdraw.jar which contains all compiled class files. You can include this file into the class path of your application.

Hi,
Yes - I have been able to reproduce it.
The flickering is caused by the parent JScrollPane and its components (JViewport and JScrollPane): when a new drawing is set in the drawing view, two or three repaint events are fired in quick succession.
I haven't been able to get rid of the repaint events. Instead I added a timer to DefaultDrawingView which prevents updates of the drawing...
