  • Support for newer 2.6.x kernels

At some point (IIRC post-2.6.17) generic_file_read/write was removed in favor of do_sync_read/write. This patch makes this change to kernel/file-io.c so that IET compiles under these kernels. I've done some minor testing with the new module and kernel. Further testing is needed and it would be nice to perhaps surround the change with some #ifdef's so it still compiles with older 2.6.x kernels.

  • Comment: LVM not supported

Logged In: YES user_id=1094364 Ahh, I C. I probably should take this up with upstream maintainers of lvm2 then. I'll open a bug against FC4 and reference the solution in this bug. Since it could "technically" be considered additional "hardware support" they may pick it up in the current version. Will post BZ number here once I have one.

  • LVM not supported

kernel 2.6.11-1.1369_FC4xen0), aoetools version 5 and module version 5 (I think). Created LVM2 LV and using vblade, exported from one FC4 node to another. From the other node, I modprobe aoe, and can see the /dev/etherd/e0.0 device. I use fdisk to create a LVM (type 8e) partition on e0.0 From the same node, running pvcreate results in the following: [r4z0r7o3@twedldum ~]$...
