  • Comment: Prboom-plus compile fails with GCC 4.3.3

Forgot to add, does not happen with vanilla prBoom official release, which compiles fine.

  • Prboom-plus compile fails with GCC 4.3.3

When trying to compile prboom-plus on a x86-64 Linux machine with GCC 4.3.3, make fails with this message: _demo.c: In function 'WadDataFree': r_demo.c:1037: warning: cast discards qualifiers from pointer target type r_demo.c: In function 'WadDataAddItem': r_demo.c:1053: warning: pointer targets in passing argument 1 of 'Z_Strdup' differ in signedness r_demo.c: In function...

  • Comment: Linux OpenGL menu corruption

Okay, tried older Nvidia drivers back to 173.14.15, no change, still get the bug. Perhaps some recently-updated SDL or X library that Prboom doesn't like is responsible. Using Xorg 7.4 and SDL 1.2.13. Tried downgrading to an older SDL library, no change.

  • Comment: Linux OpenGL menu corruption

Sorry, I should have been more precise about that. Doesn't happen with Prboom 2.4.7, happens with at least prboom-plus-2.4.8.2 thru current version, maybe earlier versions, but 2.4.8.2 is the oldest one that actually compiles on my machine. I recently obtained a new latop with Nvidia graphics, and since I've been using both versions of Prboom for quite a while without noticing this...

  • Linux OpenGL menu corruption

The Linux port of prboom-plus exibits menu text corruption when in OpenGL mode, as seen by the attached screenshot. This issue has also apparently appeared in vanilla Prboom ever since version 2.5.0. I'm running with Nvidia drivers 177.82, if that has anything to do with it. Also, corruption doesn't happen with the Windows version.

  • Comment: Pentagram fails to build with gcc 4.3.1

If I add #include to misc/Args.ccp, it compiles that file, but others fail. I tried including cstdlib in these other files. List of files I had to add #include to: misc/Args.cpp misc/pent_include.cpp kerne/MemoryManager.cpp usecode/UCMachine.cpp filesys/ArchiveFile.cpp games/GameInfo.cpp games/GameData.cpp games/TreasureLoader.cpp...

    I'm seeing the same issue.

  • Comment: TOC File support

Yes, toc2cue isn't terribly robust. The image I'm using is a mixed-mode data/audio type, and toc2cue specifically says that it doesn't work with these, since the byte order on the data track will be wrong after conversion. I tried it anyway, but as expected, it doesn't work.
