The comments in the vmpsd.conf.header are incorrectly
formatted and causes vmpsd to fail on startup. Bangs
(!) should be used instead of semicolons.

If the ungoliant daemon is stopped will it is in the
middle of restarting a port, that part will remain
shutdown. A better behavior would be to launch a
separate process and detach it from the ungoliant
daemon, this way, in the event that ungoliantd is
stopped, you are sure to finish the port shut/no shut
process.

Using vmpsd, any time a change to a host is made, the
hosts port will shutdown for 3 seconds, forcing the
client to renew its ip address. However, when you have
a netreg db full of clients, and you delete all of
those clients from the web interface, then the
ungoliant daemon will restart each of those ports. If
4k ports are restarted simultaniously, this would
probably have undesired...

I recently upgraded from 1.0 to 1.3. One change I
found was that if a switch reconfirms and the vmps is
configured to hand out a different vlan for a port than
what is already assigned to that port, the vmps
responds with a DENY for that port:
Here is my config:
==================================
vmps domain ungoliant
vmps mode open
vmps fallback default
vmps no-domain-req deny...
