Rotating all of the zones in a large model at the same time using SketchUp's Rotate tool can create errors in the input file that are found when the rotated model is saved and opened again.
One error is:

Zone and Base Surface fields (for base surfaces and sub surfaces respectively) should not be editable in the Object Info dialog. The fields are currently popups. They should be changed to grayed out text boxes.

Window-wall ratio for zones (and maybe base surfaces) is a better piece of data for the summary in Object Info. Percent Exterior Glazing is not as commonly used.

Selecting the EnergyPlus engine in the Preferences dialog should check to verify that the file path points to an executable (exe) file. The browse file dialog should also use the *.exe filter.

New feature to remove OK/Cancel buttons on dialogs and instead instantly update as inputs are changed. This is similar to the Object Info dialog, and more consistent with SketchUp's native dialogs.

One fix that can be made is to at least trap the error and notify the user with a message that a surface failed to be drawn.

Surfaces with an interior void and a split can cause errors. Such a surface can be created when trying to circumscribe another surface yet keep the surface free of interior polygons by drawing a little split or "cut" from the inside to the outside. In some (rare) cases, the split edges can cause a conflict between the new surface and existing surfaces when an IDF file is being opened and drawn.

SketchUp does not display shadows for shading groups in the normal rendering, but it does with the x-ray rendering. Is this a SketchUp bug or something that can be fixed with OpenStudio?
