...and just to muddy the waters some, I had stopped Synergy running last night, this morning I restarted it and the stuck ALT key thing *isn't* happening. At least not so far. Windows was not rebooted, just Synergy stopped and restarted several hours later.

Am able to reproduce 100% of the time, regardless of whether any clients are connected. Server OS is Windows XP SP2, Synergy version 1.3.1.
In my case, ALT-TAB is the trigger and it's application-dependent.
If I ALT-TAB to certain applications (Opera, Firefox, Thunderbird are the main ones I've seen it happen with) then they behave as though ALT is held down. In Opera, pressing ALT once...

I've noticed while using Vim that changes to the text background color (e.g. for search or parenthesis matching highlights) leave artifacts when the background is returned to black.
It appears that the highlighted background renders 2 pixels wider than the character square, and when the highlight is removed, a single pixel...
