I guess it is not a server problem... my guessing comes from the fact that any other mail program/watcher/antispam i've tested works right. Outlook Express, Comodo Anti Spam, and a lot of freeware or shareware competitors of MMM works right: they removes the mail without a problem.

It seems so.
The Filter thread is a mess of spam, no news at all.... and i'm having problem deleting messages.
But i still have to find a free alternative to mmm: somes are good but supports only one mailbox, some have a very weak filtering system (i'm getting spam from my own address, so looking only at the "from" field don't works...
... sad. I'm using MMM from years.

I use MMM from several years.
It happens that "recently" (the last 6 months) i have problems deleting the emails from the server (usually the one tagged SPAM, but it happens also by deleting manually some email).
What it happens is that MMM deletes the mails, but the next time you check the accounts the deleted messages are still there.
My "solution" is to keep clicking on...
