  • Comment: adds number of chars to statistics field (feat req 1832630)

Yevgen, I'm writing mainly text not program code (I'm an editor), so I need this information permanently -- I exactly have to fill a journal page (or a part of it) with the text I write, and that's estimated by the number of letters. Personally, I find a statistics field in the main window much more convenient than a File Info dialog.

  • Comment: behavior of home and end key in wrapped lines (req. 1832651)

Nice to hear that it's fixed already. Btw: The problem you mention does not occur (I just tried), but I observed another problem: If the last char in the line isn't alphanumeric (e.g. a '-' or a '/'), the cursor is moved before this char. With the patch, medit behaves in wrapped lines like most other editors do (e.g. gedit). The change in home and end key behavior...

  • adds number of chars to statistics field (feat req 1832630)

This patch against medit 0.8.11 adds the number of chars of the text just being worked on to the statistics field (feature request 1832630). The patch compiles smoothly and works as intended for me. (I already sent it via e-mail).
