For the path problem, you may read this description:

Or in short: Have the ebuild file in /usr/local/overlay/app-misc/eaglemode/eaglemode-0.76.0.ebuild and add PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/overlay" to /etc/make.conf.

The new version got file manager commands for Windows, and it also got cosmos and plugin configurations for that system. Another important step is that the internal make system was extended by a pack command for creating installation packages.
