I would expect that method of doing things makes the toolchain locked into a certain path. I would guess that you lose the relocatability.

1) You're welcome. Again, I apologize for not getting involved sooner.
2) I understand that you want a drop-in replacement for mingw.org. However, please also understand that the way that mingw.org does things is..... "questionably correct", if you see my meaning. There are artifacts of their design that just have to be changed to move forward. Remember that they are still delivering gcc...

First, I greatly apologize for not reading this bug or your associated forum post sooner. I really should have kept up on this, as it would have made everyone's lives easier.
That's the easy part.
The hard part is that what you are doing, you can't.
Let me clarify.
You are trying to change the usage of a certain set of directories. You can of course do whatever you want...
