We have several branches for our products. These products shares a lot of source code, but not every feature and patch is available in all products. The products are many times developed in parallell.
So we can have a common ancestor "X" for two products.
From "X" is "Y" evolved with new features and corrections.
From "X" is also "Z" evolved.
