Hi Phil
Unfortunately that developer is no longer around - that work was done a couple of years ago and never built upon.
I think you are right though, it needs to be a separate project - compiled into a DLL that links to the relevant menuitem in Recorder.exe.
I have the source files still - I can't remember if they were uploaded to the SVN.
If not, email me at support@camstudio.org...

Hi Phil
All of CamStudio's code and binaries are released under the GPL V2.
I haven't "upgraded" to GPL V3 yet as I haven't gone through it and figured out the differences.
Cheers

Hi Phil
There are no plans to move the source from Sourceforge SVN at this time, but feel free to use whatever internal tool you want to do your "thang" ...
https://sourceforge.net/scm/?type=svn&group_id=131922
I'd recommend downloading everything from SVN first and use that, because (a) that's the most up-to-date version of the code and (b) it's been refactored using VS...

Hi Phil
There is a lead dev for CamStudio however at this time he's concentrating on earning a living (fair enough) and so CS has had to take a back seat for him.
There is a substantially (but partially) re-factored code on CamStudio's SVN repository which you should be able to access but if you can't, email me at support@camstudio.org and I will give you access.
There isn't anyone in...

I found the solution on another forum but thought I'd post it here in case someone else runs into the same problem.
Just click the Script section and add the following to the end of your script:
[Run]
; open screensaver property dialog with new screensaver selected
Filename: {sys}\rundll32.exe; Parameters: desk.cpl,InstallScreenSaver {sys}\SCREENSAVERFILENAME.scr
Substitute...

Hi Giulio8
Sounds great - any chance you could send me a compiled binary to play with?
Use this address: support @ camstudio . org
Or if it's too big, can you upload it to a site like YouSendIt or RapidShare and send me a download link?
Thanks

I've created an installation EXE to "install" a screensaver (*.scr) into c:\windows\system32 but it doesn't actually show up my list of installed screensavers (Windows Vista Home Premium SP1).
I know I could probably force a reboot but that seems a little overkill for installation a screensaver and I know others don't do that.
Could someone give me some advice about what commands I need...

Yes this is a "real" project.
The source code in SVN is the current work-in-progress that originated from v2.0 and has been significantly refactored to help make it run better.
If you want the original 2.0 source you can download it directly from the camstudio.org homepage.
As I have mention on many occasions, I'm not a programmer so I can't fix bugs or add features...
