  • Vista installer adds to Admin menu instead of `All Users'

Installing v3.17 on Vista Ultimate x64 as a standard user invokes UAC, and then all the shortcuts are created under C:\Users\[admin user account]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Windows\Start Menu\Programs\ instead of under the 'All Users' group. Invoking the program from the install-folder seems to work fine.

  • Comment: Various assets not loaded, displayed as purple rectangle

Logged In: YES user_id=688405 Executive Summary: Re-installing (a third time) worked. Details: * Originally I installed StepMania 4.0 (CVS-20060730). While playing with options, ended up deleting \DATA and causing program crashes. (See Bug #1542028 for details.) * Re-installed StepMania to fix the above issue. Supposedly it uninstalled the previous installation. I tested it...

  • Various assets not loaded, displayed as purple rectangle

After installing, the first time I ran the program everything looked fine; after that, various graphical elements are not loading and are either missing (ex: The "Stepmania 4" animated shadow is present, but the image itself is not displayed) or is displayed as a purple square (see attached, upper-left image).

  • Comment: Game crash when starting normal mode

Logged In: YES user_id=688405 I re-installed StepMania and the problem (and some graphical glitches) went away. Immediatley prior I had deleted the \DATA directory in an attempt to clear the audio-sync offset, and apparently that was a Bad Thing. Apologies.

  • (Another) Crash when starting Jukebox mode

One addendum that holds for this crash and the previous: I had chosen "Beginner" difficulty for the songs.
