There is no DVD audio ripper for Linux (that I am aware of). It is simple enough to do w/ mplayer but not so easy to name files or select/preview tracks. Ogmrip would be the perfect DVD audio ripper if you could simply disable video extraction and name/tag the resultant files. Surely that's easier said than done. :) Could DVD audio ripping ever become a reality in Ogmrip?.

I always use jackd on my Linux boxes but it seems that Frinika does not know jack. Are there plans for jackd support in the future?.

I have yet to test this out but it's been added to the 'to-do' list as a top priority. As a technician working with proprietary videoconferencing hardware I can say that many of us have been waiting years for something like this to come about. Yes it was me who emailed you. :) Thanks for repsonding. I use Debian unstable. I have these installed:
ii jackd 0.101.1-1
ii libjack0.100.0-0 0.101.1-1
ii libjack0.100.0-dev 0.101.1-1
$ locate libasound.a
/usr/lib/libasound.a
$ locate libjack.a
$
No libjack.a to be found. I do have these:
/usr/lib/libjack.la...

Ahh I found it. There is a small button in the upper left hand corner of the eq but I didn't figure that out until I had shaded the eq first.

I just built and installed the 0.7 release and wow - this eq kicks arse! I'm guessing that the skins support hasn't been added to this release? Well I downloaded the skins and dumped them in ~/.xmms/EQskins but they do nothing it seems. In all the docs I read I cannot see anywhere how you actually change the skins for the eq.

I like stalonetray. It's easy to configure and supports transparency, unfortunately w/ e17 as a wm it fails to work except on the desktop from which it was launched. This is also true of other appson e17 like 3ddesktop. Apparently the way the root window is drawn is the issue here. Another similar app called trayer does work on all desktops.
